Tax or Tacks
As blogging is still new to me, I'm just going to share another favorite story.. when Louie was 5 he & I took two other boys (who were quite a handfull) to K-mart. After "toy shopping" for over an hour we finally made our way to the exit lobby, where Louie informed me we had forgotten something...I forget what it was.. but it was 99 cents and he had $1. and not 1 penny more... so I gave him another doller (for tax) ..he, being Louie wanted to explain he had enough, he did the math for me. I insisted he take the other $1 for tax anyway & sent a frustrated little boy back in the store while I waited with the other 2 boy's, still a handfull even in the lobby! In my defence it was a small town and a small K-mart, I felt it was safe to let Louie go in alone, though, it did seem to take him forever... longer than usual even for Louie. Louie never missed anything and seeing everything takes time. Anyway, when he did finally return he came right over and gave me my change... 15 cents? I asked "Where's the rest of the money?" His confused reply..."I spent it on tacks." And presented me with the "Tacks" I had given him the $1 for...
